Avospect
Doc. 01 / 01

§ 01 — Practice Notes

We build the software that runs the rooms behind the work.

Avospect is an independent software practice. We design and build the bespoke business systems engineering firms, manufacturers and operations teams have always wanted — and never quite gotten from off-the-shelf software.

A.   Engineering offices
B.   Manufacturing floors
C.   Logistics & yards
D.   Professional services

§ 02 — Practice

How we work, in four notes.

Read these as a small charter. They are how we have chosen to practise — and the reasons our clients keep us on after the first system is delivered.

  1. i.

We start at the workflow, not the wireframe.

Every commission begins with sitting alongside the people doing the work — production managers, accountants, site engineers — and following the actual paper, calls and spreadsheets. Software comes after the operation is understood.

  2. ii.

    One studio, one system.

Each project is built and maintained by the same small team that designed it. No offshore handoffs, no rotating account managers. The person who built your invoicing module is the person who answers when something needs attention.

  3. iii.

    Built on a common foundation.

Every Avospect product runs on a shared platform — multi-tenant subdomains under avospect.com, shared authentication, shared infrastructure. New modules slot in without rebuilding from zero.

  4. iv.

    We run what we build.

Avospect systems live on our infrastructure, monitored by our team and improved month after month as the operation evolves. There is no handover document, no onboarding for a new vendor — the people who designed your software are the people keeping it healthy and answering the phone when something needs attention.

§ 03 — Catalogue

A small catalogue.

Each entry is a system built from scratch around a real operation, and currently maintained by the practice. New modules join the catalogue when they have proven themselves in someone's office.

    01

    Avospect EOMS

    Engineering office management.

    Built for
    GSD Engineering
    Status
    In production

Quotations, sales orders, invoicing, payment tracking, jobs, site visits and document control — the full lifecycle of a structural engineering practice in one auditable system. Built for firms that have outgrown spreadsheets but won't be served by an off-the-shelf ERP.

    Modules

    • Quotations
    • Sales orders
    • Invoicing
    • Jobs
    • Site visits
    • Documents

    Avospect Scale

Weighbridge & ticketing for trucking yards.

    Built for
A regional weighing & haulage operator
    Status
    In production

Vehicle in-and-out, integrated weighbridge readings, customer ticketing and end-of-day reconciliation. Designed for an aggregates and haulage operator that needed to retire paper logs without retraining their drivers.

    Modules

    • Weighbridge I/O
    • Tickets
    • Customers
    • Drivers
    • Reconciliation

    Avospect CRM

    Office CRMs, made to fit.

    Built for
    Multiple professional-services clients
    Status
    Available

Bespoke client and pipeline systems for offices that found the off-the-shelf options either too rigid or too vague. Each install is shaped to a specific practice — its enquiries, its handovers, its language — not a generic template.

    Modules

    • Pipeline
    • Contacts
    • Activities
    • Reporting
    • Email sync

    Avospect Forge

BOM, planning & inventory for precast & molding.

    Built for
A precast concrete & molding manufacturer
    Status
    In delivery

An engineering management system for a precast concrete and molding manufacturer. Bills-of-material, mould planning, production scheduling, and inventory across the floor — built from the molders' workflow up, not the accountant's chart of accounts down.

    Modules

    • BOM
    • Mould planning
    • Scheduling
    • Inventory
    • Floor reports

Note — we are happy to discuss commissions outside the catalogue. Most of these systems began as an unusual problem on a Tuesday.

§ 04 — Capabilities

What we are trained for.

The work tends to fall into four columns. Most commissions cross a few of them — an office system that needs floor data, a yard system that needs an audit trail.

Office systems

  • 01 Engineering office management (EOMS)
  • 02 Bespoke CRMs & sales pipelines
  • 03 Quotation & invoicing engines
  • 04 Document control & e-sign

Floor & yard

  • 01 Manufacturing BOM & inventory
  • 02 Production scheduling & routing
  • 03 Weighbridge & yard ticketing
  • 04 Hardware-integrated capture (scales, scanners, cameras)

Field & audit

  • 01 Site inspection & site-visit reports
  • 02 Audit trails & compliance evidence
  • 03 Photo & drawing capture (S3-backed)
  • 04 Mobile-first PWAs for the field

Across everything

  • 01 Custom dashboards & reporting
  • 02 Multi-tenant subdomains under avospect.com
  • 03 Role-based access (RBAC) & SSO
  • 04 Self-hosted or managed by us

§ 05 — Process

A commission, in four phases.

  1. i. 1–2 weeks

    Discovery

We sit with the people doing the work — production managers, accountants, site engineers — and follow the actual paper, calls and spreadsheets. We leave with a written map of the operation.

  2. ii. 1 week

    Specification

Written scope, fixed price for phase one, and a commitment on timeline. You see exactly what is being built, what is not, and what it will cost before any code is touched.

  3. iii. 8–16 weeks

    Build & install

Iterative delivery with weekly reviews. Real users in the system from week three, not from launch day. Most of the surprises happen — and are absorbed — long before the rollout.

  4. iv. Ongoing

    Care

Maintenance, training, and the occasional new module. The studio that built your system is the studio that looks after it. We stay.

§ 06 — Contact
